test-post

Blogger is being truly erratic. Giving me error messages half the time. If you do get here - please let me know.
My glasses - you know the ones that B says make look truly extinguished - decided that screw Dave - or at least screw loose and dropped the lens onto my lap were the order of the day. Then I took John-boy to airport and drove his truck back here - rain and misery weather sweeping in. Horrible weather for a small plane but the island air-service has a good record (at that price they should have). Rex or Dennis was telling me about one of the old islanders who'd never left the island by plane being flown out on the Flying Doctor service in some dodgy weather. "Oh will you be able to land it?" she asks. Pilot smiles reassuringly - "Don't worry, I've never left plane up here yet!"
On the exciting news - we have been given permission to pick olives in the school grove. Pay what we think is fair. Difficult question - what is fair for raw olives?

  2. Well I got here - after about half an hour of intermittently trying and always getting errors with codes like "bX-hh20f8".

    Weird stuff.

I hate flying in little planes in bad weather. I know the chances of there actually being an accident is slim to none but its hard to convince myself of the fact when the plane starts swaying around

  3. Mmm, blogger's been bluggering about today -- have been trying to Do Stuff and it's been painful.

Can't help with the price of olives!

  5. Okay -- did absolutely nothing different that time, but it worked.

Blogger's been dodgy for me for some time. I always figured it's because I use a Yahoo address to log in, and they're trying to Nazi us all across to Gmail.

We'll see how it works out, eh?

  6. I am seriously considering migrating the blog to a different platform because of this sort of issue. I'll send you some olives, Launz. Not sure about posting to NZ or France - sorry guys.

  8. I made it here!

And the RSS feed made it to LiveJournal!

@Francis: Just remember, Dave's trip back from the airport was actually more likely to have resulted in an accident than John's trip to Essendon. Statistically speaking, of course.

  9. Blogger's been having difficulties lately. MGC had a few issues last week, too.

Good luck with the olive hunting - they can be tricky, those olives.

  10. TANSTAFL.

Hosting Matters and Go Daddy are good. But expect to pay at least $6.99 per month each for a basic package.

  11. I had no trouble getting on. Price of olives? Boutique ten pound boxes for US$18, or US$500 to 700 per ton referenced on an olive oil report I found. Both, of course already include the cost of labor of picking the olives, and in the boutique case, the very valuable box and snob value of Raw Olives.;)

  12. I hope that was not a comment on Dave's driving, he is getting much better, really! Actually there are so few cars here it is so peaceful on the road.
