Merry Christmas

It's Christmas day in Australia. Merry Christmas all :-)
The Somerset Pye (Flinders Island version - deboned home made ham-hock, apple and sage coating, inside a deboned pheasant, red rice, zucchini, bacon, egg, and thyme coating, inside a deboned chicken, silverbeet and almond meal and raisin coating inside a deboned turkey coated in sausage meat and inside a pastry case. I bought the pastry, rice and almond meal the rest is off the land ) is baked, the sun is out, the wind is still. I have 3/4 word count for the book. I am tempted just to go to the beach - but will do some writing. I need to finish this and then take a bit of time off. I'm burned out.

  1. Barb and Dave, have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy that awesome lunch.

I hope you get to finish the book soon and get to enjoy your fishing and the beach.

You are both two very special people.

  2. Peter's been fondly remembering many a Christmas gone by where he tried to wheedle his mum and dad into having a nice salad instead of a traditional meal, as it was too hot to want it. This year, he spent it making ad noises that he couldn't get access to half the things he hadn't wanted to eat as a kid, and then cheerfully disappearing into the kitchen to go roast things and make a smaller version of the classic spread. (My traditional Christmas "let's go eat at a Chinese restaurant" dinner was vetoed.)

I hope you two had a wonderful Christmas, and enjoy some time off together! (Well, as much as time ever is off, when you have animals to feed and fencing to fix.) The beach sounds lovely!

    1. Thank you, we did. I went through the same with traditional Afrikaans/ Yorkshire Christmas dinners in Durban ( hot and humid) but this is a kinder climate for it.A I hope you did too.

I'm with Peter on this. Chinese restaurants are very nice but not Christmas. :-)
