Heat

Well my poor computer had an overheating shutdown today, and while it is worrying, I am not surprised. It was one of the hottest days we've had and I was close to heat fatigue myself, carrying stuff. The Chookabago - I will post a picture - but I got the entire thing on the back of the ute myself. It is... not light. I quietly did a dehydration faceplant a little later so have been drinking vile rehydrating gunk. I am needing to re-assemble the wheels so the chooks are still in durance vile ie the chook-yard. I'm going to try and buy a fan to blow on the computer as I have to have it working. The proofs for DOG AND DRAGON are due on the 9th, and I have another deadline looming.

On other news CUTTLEFISH is up on Amazon - Do tell me what you think of Paul Young's illustration.

and I had some lovely reviews on DOG AND DRAGON ARC http://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/2011/12/31/fantasy-author-dave-freer-emerges-as-major-talent/

  1. You can order an additional cooling fan that mounts inside your computer. They are easy to install.

  2. I will have to do something Quilly. I have taken the cover off and am simply going to put a desk fan to blow on it meanwhile

  3. You can have some of the cold from PA - it's supposed to drop to 11 F tonight (that's -12 C for those who do real temperatures). Just let me try to get it through the modem...

  4. I've done that Dave, it works as a short term solution. I really like the Cuttlefish cover, I don't look at it and wonder who the heck it's supposed to be, like I have with some others. I intended to order it for my soon-to-be 10 year old niece, amazingly, all my nieces and nephews are huge readers. Love being able to gift them with books I loved growing up, too.

  6. We had a computer tower in which the fan *melted* You might try making a paper funnel (large side on the fan, smaller side toward the computer) to increase the airflow where you want it.

Also, those pink erasers work great for getting the thing up high enough to let air ciruclate underneath. Two of them under each corner :-)
