Well B's been Wheeling-and-Mealing (meals-on-wheels) to some of our more senior citizens, and John and his son have been around for 'tea' and we've sampled the Lark single malt, (which was really excellent, with hints of apple - appropriate to the apple Isle - but may have more to do with the wood used. Very good though! And we were so warmed we had some of the liquer on ice-cream which was truly scrumptious. I've pushed the book on to 95K. The boys are still a bit Jet-lagged and have collapsed. Tomorrow they go to work on a stall at the fair/market thing. Island life continues...

  1. The single malt is good. The pepperberry gin is better. Damn' fine gin!

  2. Two Dogs was my drink when I was in Oz, or Strongbow (Sweet, Dry or Draft!). Do they still sell that down there? Glad to hear the family is almost complete. Now for the furry members!

  3. I'm completely sold on the pepperberries a seasoning, so really need to try the gin.

  4. blloonaticbmber - um, I really can't tell you. I'm a failure to the drinking classes. I've been into the pub once since we've been here, to buy a bottle of wine, and some Boags. B tends to do the little shopping we do do, which includes the pub.

  5. My pub shopping consists of going in and asking for the "beer that John drinks, as he is coming round" and they sell it to me. I have no idea what others they stock! (Or to be honest, the name of the green one I do buy. Boags of some sort, it is.)

  6. Tasmanians tend to drink Boags or Cascade in various varieties. Strongbow Cider is still around - my favourite cider. For beer, despite being a mainlander I like Boags. I do have fond memories of a conference dinner at the Cascade brewery in Hobart though :)

My only encounter with Two Dogs was their alcoholic lemonade. Not bad, but beer or cider are more my preference.

I'm yet to meet a gin I like, but one day I may try one of Lark's vodkas.
